There is more to it than just viewability…

I read an article the other day on this, mind you there have been quite a few from all corners of the globe of late, and with the GDPR coming in effect on the 25th May, the digital advertising industry is busy working to implement and adhere to the required protocols.

In light of the above, IAB Europe introduced their GDPR Transparency and Consent Framework last month. The framework aims to help parties within the digital advertising chain ensure they comply with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation when processing personal data or accessing both non-personal and personal data across devices. It in not just about integrating with the majority of the viewability tracking software that is around, we all need to be making changes about the way we operate to ensure compliance under the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) framework, as here in SA we deal with global brands, and these global brands are going to require more that just “viewability” software. Its about privacy and how personal information is collected as well.

There is more to it than just viewability… its about offering full transparency in ones approach to compliance.

Mobiclicks values the consumers right to privacy. Our objective is to ensure that the consumer always feels in control of where and how their personal information is collected, stored and used. We have therefore updated our privacy policy to provide clearer and more precise language about how we collect, use and share personal data. Mobiclicks honors consumer privacy preferences and provides the opportunity to opt-out of behavioral retargeting. Mobiclicks also complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not collect any data from those devices that have selected Do Not Track (DNT) or Limited Ad Tracking (LAT).

Our technology partner, BLIS are members of various regulatory and trade bodies who empower and enforce industry standards and guidelines to which we continuously adhere to. They are part of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO UK), a regulatory body that promotes data privacy for individuals and they are longstanding members of the Internet/Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in Australia, Dubai, Singapore, UK & US.

The Global Vendor List allows vendors to publicly declare:

Who they are

What data they collect

What ‘purpose’ they collect or use the data for

What legal basis they rely on to use the data

Being registered as part of the Global Vendor List enables us to uphold the framework policy, offering full transparency in our approach to compliance.
